Lilse is now on The Expert!

I'm excited to announce that I’m now offering one-on-one video consults on The Expert ! We can tackle anything from one room scheme to a high-level overview of floor plans and furniture layouts. I've put together some more info on the service and how we can work together below. Can't wait to connect with you on your projects!

Why offer consultations on The Expert? I often get messages asking if I would offer short-term consultation services.  As a small (but mighty!) team, we simply don't have the capacity to take these on. When I was initially invited to join The Expert, I wasn't sure how to fit them in with my current project load and day-to-day schedule. Then a couple of years later, I saw the roster filled with so many talented designers and I thought if Miles Redd can find an hour, so can I. I spoke with Miles about The Expert and realized it would be a nice way to get my head out of the projects I’m so deeply involved in and stretch my muscles with new, one-off smaller scope projects.  I also hope it helps me think differently about some of my bigger projects, while providing my clients on The Expert with solutions for their homes too.  A win-win, and hopefully a fun chat as well!

My plan is to offer an hour of my time bi-weekly, first thing on Friday mornings for now, to people who love our work but don’t have the full scope, time or budget to decorate their entire house in one go with a professional.  We can chat for an hour and potentially connect again if another consult is needed.

What can we do on The Expert? We can try to answer any decorating, interior design or interior architecture questions that you have! I’m happy to review furniture plans, a shopping list, make item suggestions, review fabrics, look a photos of a room and give feedback... whatever you need! With the time limit, I probably won’t be able to whip up an architectural rendering or finish the furniture plans for your house but if you have plans ready and all your thoughts outlined to communicate, I can certainly give you schematic drawings.

How should I prepare for an Expert call? Come with a list of questions, visual references and notes.  What do I need to know about your project, context-wise? Where is it? Who lives there? Who has opinions? Do you have photos of a favorite house to reference? Any favorite photos of my work that led you to book this call? Get your computer screen ready with all of the pertinent information, too: open up Pinterest boards, Canva collages, those photos of that favorite house you saw on Instagram, and any relevant floorpans or photos of your existing furniture.

Can I give an Expert session as a gift? Yes! We've been asked many times if a consultation with us could be gifted, which I think is the sweetest idea. Or the most passive aggressive. We’ll let the recipient decide…either way, I’m happy to finally be able to say: Yes you can :)
